Pi(e) Day Workshop with Chimacum Grainery
Pi(e) Day Workshop
CREATE YOUR OWN WHOLESOME LOCAL PIE CRUST
At Finnriver Friday 3/14 • 2:30-4:30pm
Have you always wanted to bake up a pie using your own homemade pie crust? Here’s your chance to learn to prepare a wholesome pie crust with baker Baylin Speidel and Crystie Kisler from Chimacum Valley Grainery. Using locally grown organic flour, stone-milled fresh for optimal flavor and nutrition, you will be guided through the steps of mixing up a pie crust. This workshop is offered on our Pi Day (celebrating the mathematically meaningful number 3.14) event at Finnriver.
You bring a mixing bowl, a rolling pin and a pie pan if you have one, and we will supply all of the ingredients and instruction you’ll need to mix it all up! You will take a home a pie crust ready to bake or freeze for the future, enjoy a fresh slice of pie from the Chimacum Cafe (which now uses our local flour in their crust!), as well as a 3 pound bag of Grainery organic pastry flour for future baking adventures.
Pie insides not included!
$45 per person for instruction, a take-home piecrust, a piece of Chimacum Cafe pie, a token for a beverage in the Finnriver taproom and a 3 pound bag of our local flour.
