You can Knit Yourself Flowers
You Can Knit Yourself Flowers Workshop with Karen Anderson
Thursdays, April 10, 17 and 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Finnriver Farm & Cidery, Chimacum
Are you a knitter who loves all the colors, but isn't sure how to work with more than one at a time? Join certified knitting instructor, Karen Anderson, to knit the Pressed Flowers Kerchief and learn the magic of slip-stitch colorwork knitting. During the three class sessions you'll learn how to read and follow a slip-stitch pattern, how to manage working with two colors of yarn, increasing and decreasing, and tips to improve edge tension on your kerchief. We'll be using a luxurious blend of Shaniko wool, Mulberry silk and Belgian flax to create a drapey textured fabric, with a delicate sheen, that is perfect for spring. The class fee is $96 and includes six hours of hands-on instruction, a copy of the Pressed Flowers Kerchief pattern, two skeins of Elemental Affects "Coastal" yarn in contrasting colors, and a drink token for a Finnriver beverage of your choice for each class. There will be a variety of yarn colors to choose from in class. To get the most out of this class you should already know how to cast stitches onto a needle, and how to form knit and purl stitches. Please bring the following items with you to class: one US #6 circular needle at least 24" in length, a pair of scissors and a yarn needle. This class is appropriate for any skill level.
